Our Story
Rooted in history. Moving forward in faith.
For generations, Saint Luke MBC of Narcoossee has stood as a spiritual home for worship, fellowship, service, and community.
Born from the faith of local workers and strengthened by committed families, generous neighbors, and devoted leaders, Saint Luke grew from humble beginnings into an enduring congregation. In 1916, members and friends united to construct a new place of worship, continuing a legacy built through sacrifice, prayer, and perseverance.
Across the decades, Saint Luke expanded its ministry, incorporated as a church, and began developing a new sanctuary to prepare for future growth. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted traditional worship, the congregation remained resilient through online ministry and “Pull Up and Praise” services that kept the church connected.
Today, Saint Luke continues to grow spiritually and numerically while serving the community through worship, children and youth ministries, health and wellness, fine arts, nursing-home outreach, school-supply distributions, Juneteenth celebrations, Trunk or Treat, and other family-centered ministries.
In June 2024, Saint Luke was officially recognized as a historic site and a historical marker was installed on the church grounds. We honor that legacy while preparing the sanctuary on our new campus and marching forward in faith.
Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Marcus A. Stovall
Vision-driven leadership for a growing church.
Rev. Marcus A. Stovall serves as the youngest pastor in the history of Saint Luke MBC of Narcoossee. Since being called to pastor the historic congregation in October 2019, he has provided vision-driven leadership focused on discipleship, spiritual growth, community service, and preparing the church for its next chapter.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Pastor Stovall answered God’s call to ministry at an early age. He was licensed to preach in 2011 and ordained in 2017 at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stetson University, studied abroad at Hong Kong Baptist University, and earned a Master of Community Leadership from Berkeley School of Theology.
He has served as a Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Interim Pastor, and denominational leader; preached and taught throughout the United States; and published the devotional Somewhere Between Sorrow and the Savior in 2022. Pastor Stovall is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the proud father of his son, Judah.

Pastor Marcus & Lady J
Pastor Stovall and his wife, Jacquita “Lady J” Stovall, are building a Christ-centered life and ministry together. Lady J is a gifted minister and choir director whose service strengthens the worship and ministry life of Saint Luke.
Together, they are committed to loving people, developing leaders, strengthening families, and helping Saint Luke move forward with faith and excellence.
